This summer FUNSPORT will open its very own kite school, flying North kites. Caroline (Dave’s Wife and eight years and a member of the Funsport Team) will be running the school. With seven years of kiting experience she feels she is ready for the challenge.

Caroline’s school will fulfill all teaching obligations including rescue vehicle on stand by, classroom and shower facilities, not mentioning top of the range equipment from one of the best Kitesurfing brands – North Kitesurfing. With great support from Mike and Callum from Surf Centre, we know that by using these great kites and boards we can get everyone on the water.

On assessing the beach we have found that Rhosneigr is a great place to learn kite surfing and other water sports on all possible levels. Thanks to cross winds, and lack of dangerous hazards like hidden rocks or strong currents, Rhosneigr Bay is one of the safest places to learn kitesufing on Anglesey. Another great advantage is that Caz’s School and Funsport HQ are located directly on the beach, which makes it so handy during launch breaks or a bit of theory tuition.

We all strongly believe that with the experience that Caroline has, and with our full support she will do a great job, and thanks to her passion for kitesurfing she will get more people in to this extreme and spectacular sport.

There will be many different options of training, starting from a 2 hour power kiting session finishing on 3 day course.

Power kite session

Price £40/2h

This includes use of a foil kite in a safe area on the beach with an instructor. It will teach you all the basic fundamentals about flying foil kite: how they launch, fly, land, steer, stabilize, produce power and much more. It’s a great first step into kiting of any sort and it’s a great insight into kite sports

1 Day course

Price : £ 80

This is your introduction to the fastest growing sport of the 21st century! Kiteboarding is an awesome sport both to practice and to learn. Your one day course provides all the fundamentals of kite flying.

At the end of a one day course you will know all about kitesurfing and how to do the basics safely. No doubt you will be very eager to be booking up your boardstart day 2 course!

2 Day course

Price : £ 160

The BKSA two day courses builds on the knowledge learnt on day one. Its all about getting on the board and moving. This is where it gets entertaining! By the end of day two you will know all about

From here you will be at a stage where you will have learnt all the nuts and bolts of kitesurfing, its just a case of getting out there and practicing more, either on more lessons, hiring kit or getting set up with your own

3 Day course:

Price: £ 240

This three day course really turns you into a kitesurfer! It fills in all the gaps and builds on your knowledge to get you out there kitesurfing independently anywhere in the world. By the end of day three you will know all about.
